Stringfever   February 16

If you’re looking for an evening's entertainment like you’ve never seen before, then meet Giles, Ralph, Graham & Neal Broadbent, aka Stringfever. With their electric instruments and live beat-boxing, the world’s first genetically modified string quartet combine exceptional musical skill with a real talent for involving and engaging audiences to provide you with a night you’ll never forget.

The Northeast Iowa School of Music is bringing this international performance group to Dubuque for a concert on February 16 at 7:00PM at the Grand Opera House, sponsored in part by Premier Bank. Tickets are $20 for adults and $12 for students, and are available at the Grand Opera House Box Office. Call (563) 588-1305 to charge tickets by phone or visit thegrandoperahouse.com to order online.

Stringfever is a family affair with these four world class musicians who come from a long line of amazing musical talent and have put together a truly original show featuring five and six stringed electric violins, called violectras, a viola, and a cello. Some of the unique features of the show include Stringfever’s acclaimed version of “Bolero,” with all four members of the group playing one cello at the same time. At one point, the audience is challenged to a rousing game of name that tune, trying to guess 20 of the most popular film theme songs, including a rousing rendition of a “007, James Bond medley.” The fantastic culmination of the show is the group’s signature finale, “The History of Music . . . in 5 minutes.” The unique instruments and charismatic personalities of the members of the group make Stringfever a truly unique and unforgettable, not to miss, musical experience. Since catching the attention of Europeans from one side of the continent to the other, Stringfever has decided to make the journey across the ocean and share their incredible show with their American friends.

Catch the fever and find the cure with Stringfever, a truly unique musical experience!
